Heard on your station this morning that Spirit Airlines asked the passengers to applaud their support for the gun protest tomorrow. Maybe they should have announced that in the Spirit of the protests they will no longer use armed sky marshals on their flights.

Take a look at this story from “The Jolley Book”, a comprehensive history of my mother’s family. The Manti Miracle The miracle of Manti concerns those fifty brave pioneer familie Ver más ... s who during the dead of winter, 1849, arrived in wagons at the present site of that city. Turning to the spur of the east mountain for relief from the intense cold and deep snow, they made "dugouts" in the gray hill where the Manti temple now stands. With the advent of spring's warm sun, the comfort of the rock shelters was suddenly interrupted by an unexpected and fearful menace–from under slabs of stone and crevices crawled hundreds of spotted-backed angry rattlesnakes. The Manti pioneers stood their ground and fought one of the strangest battles ever recorded–a war against deadly hissing reptiles. Three hundred fearsome snakes lay dead by the evening of the first day's battle. The war continued throughout the night and for several days and nights until every snake was exterminated–hundreds and hundreds of them - and the miracle of it was - not a man, woman or child was bitten. They must have dug into the snake nesting area. Before they built the temple, they built a fort on the site which saved them from the Utes during one of the wars. Bob Karls
